Housing Replacement Process
(WES-1000 & WES-2000)

Materials Required:
• New housing(s)
• Adhesive caulk

Tools Recommended:
• Cardboard sheet or rug (to place urinal on so as to prevent marring)
• Rubber hammer
• Caulking gun
• Cleaning rags and alcohol

Process Overview:
• Place urinal upside down on cardboard sheet
• Loosen bottom housing nut and remove along with the friction washer
• Gently tap housing with rubber hammer until free from bowl
• Slide old housing out of bowl and discard
• Remove old adhesive caulking and clean bowl with alcohol
• Place a small bead of caulk around bowl opening
• Carefully slide new housing through bowl opening
• Place friction washer and housing nut over tailpiece and tighten securely (ensure tail piece is centered)
• Remove all excess caulking around stainless steel outer ring and wipe bowl with alcohol and a rag
• Leak test (test method outlined below)
• Wipe entire urinal with rag to remove fingerprints along with any dust and dirt

Note: Depending on the model of housing being changed out, the hangar heights might have to be adjusted to achieve the proper drain angle with the new housing.

 

Leak Test Method
• Place cartridge with duct tape over top of holes, cover with water and let stand for 5 minutes, observe for leakage.
